15-year-old Marah captures in this verite essay the resilience and creativity of the Syrian children living in Za'atari Refugee Camp.
Za'atari Refugee Camp, Jordan / 2015
Bio: Marah, 15, is from Dara'a, Syria. She fled the civil war 4 years ago and now lives in Za'atari Refugee Camp in Jordan. This is her first time using a camera and making a film. Marah has a love of life that stretches into to everything new she does. She is a lover of learning. To relax, she likes to draw, do calligraphy and play soccer. She hopes to become a translator one day.
Of her film she says, “I see the children playing, celebrating their childhood and their beautiful lives. How beautiful their days are. I remembered God’s great power. His wonderous human creation.”
