Cross-border film (in post-production)

Four young women are directing a film together across borders, which documents their transition from childhood to motherhood. Karoli and Christy, indigenous Shipibo teens living in Lima, Peru, embark on a friendship and collaboration with Khaldiya and Marah, Syrian teens living as refugees in Jordan—forming bonds of support, understanding and solidarity across great distance and cultural difference. They help each other find and reflect new definitions of home in the face of massive uncertainty.

Following completion of the film, regional and international tours and workshops with filmmakers are planned.

Introductory Filmmaking & Storytelling Workshops

Partnering with El Pueblo NOLA in New Orleans, we are working in Village de l’Est with recently arrived migrant and refugee teenage girls from Central America.

Youth-led Workshops in Za’atari Refugee Camp

Older Syrian AKGC artists have begun jobs teaching media workshops to younger girls in Za’atari Refugee Camp in Jordan.
